Industry Insight: Oregon Potatoes

Greg Harris earned his Bachelor of Science in Crop & Soil Science from OSU’s program at Eastern Oregon University in 1997. He later joined Threemile Canyon Farms, where he currently manages around 50,000 irrigated acres and works closely with researchers at OSU’s Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC). Greg received the College of Agricultural Sciences’ Alumni Luminary Award this year for his significant impact in Oregon agriculture, and credits the potato variety breeding research at HAREC for the growth and resilience of the Oregon potato industry.
